1x1 Coaching Call “How to Have a Closet Full of Clothes That You Love”

listen to this episode here

Empowering women through fashion is something I had in mind even as a young girl, when I announced to my family that I was destined to become a clothing designer.Fast forward to now – I have been in the clothing industry for more than 20 years, most of them as a women's clothing designer. I've planned, designed and curated collections which have developed my eye for color, proportion, style and fit. In my design experience I learned how the power of clothes can truly impact your life.It was a natural pivot to translate this experience into working with individual clients to create wardrobes that they love and show them how important it is to embrace the body we have today. Through all the changes that happen in life, be it our bodies, our career or our age, we can embody our unique style so they can be seen as the valuable and fabulous women that they are.

After completing my education in design and business, I launched two successful brands:

Sara McNamara, a dress line that was sold nationwide in boutiques and department stores such as Nordstrom and Saks as well as being featured in Vogue, Bazaar, WWD,  and other leading fashion magazines.

And most recently, O'Shaughnessey, a line of equestrian lifestyle clothing which puts a modern twist on timeless traditions.

Nominated as 1 of 10 Rising Design Stars on the West Coast

My industry experience gives me a deep knowledge of the ways style impacts us all:  How different pieces look on different body types, how various items can combine to create signature looks, and—most importantly—how what you wear can change the way you feel.

I’m a lifelong equestrian, pilates fanatic, cook, wellness advocate and mother to 4 amazing kids. I’m happiest being close to the water and admire beauty in all forms, but am especially drawn to nature. I love travel and different cultures,  wandering through museums, gardens, hiking in the mountains, and of course animals (especially dogs and horses).

Regaining Your Mojo When Menopause Strikes

I’ve been helping women find the style that they love for over 15 years. But, in the last couple of years, I lost my mojo too. Peri-menopause arrived like a slap in the face from a big wet fish. It messed up my head and my body, turning my world upside down. Worst of all, as a stylist, I had to re-learn how to dress myself, nothing fit right. My tummy was bloated, my boobs were bigger and my brain was fried. I wasn’t just a different size, my body shape had changed and no matter what I tried my new shape was here to stay. That’s when it hit me – not the fish, but the idea - If I was struggling with this, other women would be too. That’s when I refocused and became The Menopause Stylist – for peri-menopausal women who want to rediscover their mojo and feel amazing again.
